Let me start by saying Thank you. To all of you. Those comments you left on my last post made me feel less crazy bride and more normal. You have no idea how much BETTER you all make me feel. Sometimes just blogging about things helps me to move past them.
We have been holding off on sending out the thank you cards as we were waiting for a wedding photo to put in them. (I know it's been six weeks and I am probably going to etiquette hell for taking so long). I wrote out the ones for my family and friends, and I made Mr B do the ones for his. Then I read one of his - Man can that boy write a thank you. Made me want to throw all mine away and let him write them all. We included this card for people that had contributed to our honeymoon registry.
We also included this card for a website I found that lets you upload and download shots for free! (took me AGES to find one where you could download the photos at full resolution, it's not as pretty as the paid sites, but it's FREE!)
And we've already gotten some photos back. I've tweaked them a little in photoshop and we are both feeling so much better. Apparently there are some photos of my walk down the aisle from the front on the way too! Want to see my favorites so far?
My sister reading me Mr B's text that says 'Does anyone in the girls camp know how to tie a bowtie? Help!'
From my sisters camera - Miss P & I right before I fell off the luggage trolley (not the best idea in heels!)
My sisters camera again - A close up of Mr B & his brothers cufflinks (yey for detail shots!)
Mr B's step Dad's camera - My lovely niece giving us the rings. SO LOVE this shot.

These two are from my Aunty. This is just after Mr B's speech. I'll fill you all in on the joke in the recaps!
Funny Dad joke during our dance.
LOVE this photo of us dancing.
My Mum took this - and although it's cropped a little crazy, it's my favorite photo so far. Right on midnight. Happy New Year indeed!
Sometimes the best photos are the ones you didn't even know you had.

Oh yea! Glad you got some great shots. And thanks for sharing that photo site...I have been looking for one and want to print up cards :)
And no crazy lady, I am dead serious. If you found yourself on this side of the pond, you had better show up at our wedding! I would shove a family member out of the way to find a place for you and Mr B :)
Oh by the way, thanks for the great idea on the thank you card for those that contribute to the h-moon registry! Never thought of that! So smart, you are!
I am so glad that you were able to get these great shots from your family and friends. And they really are great!
You look so happy in all of them :)
Thanks for adding me to oyur blog roll too, I've done the same.
Also, I want your dancing dress!
Yay so pleased that you've been able to get some great pictures from family and friends!
Love the dancing shots!
That last photograph is beyond wondrous!
You two are far too delicious.
Yay, I knew you would have some great family shots! I find these candid ones to be among the most awesome. The ones of you and Mr. B...sigh lovely and so fun.
They are great shots!! I love candid shots so much more. They are so natural and capture the moment perfectly. I love the last shot too!!!
Those really are some great photos! We're paying a crazy amount for a photographer and although I'm obviously excited to see her work, I think I might be more excited to see the photos people upload to our site. And thanks for the tip on the website, I've been trying to find a good one forever.
yay !! im glad you are feeling a little better with the friends and fam photos :)
Those shots are so great! I'm crossing my fingers for you that you get even more! Love the honeymoon "thank-you" card photo. Such a great idea!
Your photos make me want to get married even more. I love them. THe speech picks are my fave.
oh my gosh oh my gosh! seeee??? this is fabulous! i love the last one too. how much fun you guys must be having.
ps. the "watermark" is a text box in Windows Paint. I really wish I had fancier computer software :-/ oh well! i'm a simple font kinda girl anyway!
These turned out so well! I love your dresses and that last shot is really cute.
Yay! I love these photos! Your family and friends pulled through - awesome!
take a break from the photos for. like. a week. seriously.
when youve given yourself that week to get over the initial disappointment, you may come back to the photos with a different perspective- and like you said, find that you love some that you didn't even know you had at first glance.
Love the last picture the best!!
These are great pictures! We’re definitely doing a photo-sharing card/website, too, and I’m so glad you did, since I know how unhappy you were with a lot of the professional shots. These look wonderful!
Yayyy! Sooooo glad you got some awesome pics from family and friends! Love the last one of you and Mr. B!
Mrs. T, I meant to try to e-mail you but couldn't find your e-mail. I hope you didn't mind that I included that picture of you and your ladies - I really do think it's glorious.
Also I know, it really hurts. Seeing your story reminded me of mine in so many ways - a photographer with a good rep and not so cheap price that didn't take the pictures I wanted, lost picture opps of us, didn't take detail shot...
Like I said, it did help that my brother took some pictures of us later in Taiwan with some of my favorite accessories. These can be shot whenever.
It takes time. I've had more time to deal with this. I'm also going to e-mail my photographer and let him know my disappointment (and eventual mixed review because he took some good pix and put my husband at ease).
Some day, we may go to our church's neighborhood or reception restaurant for an anniversary and maybe taking pictures then will be a fond memory.
But know that my post was my eventual 6 months of coming to peace with it, as sucky as it is. I hope you find some pictures that you love too and though may not be completely happy, still find yourself smiling.
What lovely photos! Congrats!
these are fantastic! you're so right...sometimes the best photos are from family and friends. you could even use the one of you guys dancing for the thank you card. that would be so cute. i honestly think you look beautiful in all of them.
Love the photos!
AND, you have 3-6 months to send thank yous - so you're fine. Some people even say you have up to a year after the wedding.
Looks like you have plenty to share with the blogging world! Your wedding looks like a blast, I love the details on your dress and how much fun everyone seems to be having.
Yay! Just plain, yay! I hadn't had a chance to come check you out and I'm so glad a took a moment. LOVE LOVE LOVE the candid shots. You too look wonderously happy.
i'm so happy that you got some photos that you like. they're fabulous! i too preferred a lot of the photos my guests took...candids are much better! oh and don't worry about the the etiquette thing. i just sent mine out 5 months later. now that's bad! :)
I love the last 2 best of all.I'm glad you've discovered these little beauties amongst the stress with your photographer xx
Those are all so great!!! I felt awful about your photographer experience and I'm so happy that you got some shots that you really love.
The one of you on the luggage cart with the balloons is super cute (as is your niece obviously!).
Well this is a MUCH better collection and much more positive attitude than what was in your last post! Thanks for sharing! Glad you've got some photos to be happy about!
Em
That last photo is the bomb!
I hope you get some of the photos you want that you don't have, even if it means hiring a different photographer for a special photo shoot. You can reconstruct couple shots and ring shots, and hopefully supplement what you have from the day. I would suggest a different photographer that you are excited about though.
We didn't have time to do some couple photos we wanted (and didn't do any e-shots either), so we have a friend that said he will do some shoots of us sometime in a field or something. :) So maybe you can do something similar?
