So if you've been reading for a little while you know that one of the first things I did when I woke up the morning of our wedding was blog! I was feeling less than chipper and thought getting it all out would make me feel better.
Mr B was up at 7am making calls and trying to get to the bottom of our hotel nightmare. Luckily he got it sorted ready for everyone to check in at 9am.
I ran around like a headless chicken getting everything together that needed to go to our hotel room. I threw it all in a washing basket. Said goodbye to the fur babies. We stuffed ourselves into the car and headed out to the hotel room. I wish we'd taken a photo - Miss P, Mr B, Me, my dress, Mr B's suit, Miss P's dress, and a whole lotta other stuff all crammed into a Corolla. We were running late.
It was already hot at 10am - 34 degrees and climbing.
Wedding hindsight tip - If you can stay in the room you will be getting ready the next day the night before the wedding - DO IT! Relax, wake up for a lovely breakfast, feel chill right from the start.

That would have been an awesome picture! Thanks for the tip! I am dreading the morning of my wedding day. I am sure I will be excited and all... I am just not a morning person!
that post was the first one I ever read! I know I'll be disorganised on my wedding morning, I'm doing my best to stop that now but I know it'll still happen! and there isn't a chance in the world that I'll be able to spend the night with James, although he will only be next door, him with his parents, and my parents at mine. ugh.
Glad it didn't take too long to sort out! That would have been an interesting pic if you had captured it :)
I love that you blogged first thing!
Oh and we have a picture of me climbing out of a Toyota Echo scrambling to the church. My dress was worth more than the car, LOL. It was captured by a ;ovely friend.
p.s. Of course we're blogger BFFs! Shoot if I ever drop by Perth (is that where you are?) we should have some drinks and food!
the morning of we have to decorate the venue! because a million people are helping I hope the decorations go up fast!
We'll be staying in the hotel where we're getting ready the night before the wedding...I'm glad because we're having a daytime wedding so will have to get up really early to get ready. I hope it'll be a relaxed morning and not too hectic!
thanks for the tip! i'm staying in the room i'm getting ready in, so i'm going to try very hard to sleep in and get room service!
ditto the above tips.
and also, don't do the getting ready photos. not til you're kinda already ready.
unless you naturally look awesome first thing when you wake up, pre-make-up and hair.
That's great advice...definitely stay in the room the night before. It makes all the difference in the world! :)
How amazing are you that you blogged first thing. I couldn't adore you more :)
xoxo
Awww, that would have been a great photo! I'm glad Mr. B got everything sorted out with the hotel. I'm loving your recaps :)
What a stressful way to start the day...but I'm glad you the hotel nonsense ultimately got worked out!
Sounds so stressful!!!
Im hoping we will all be chilled at my mums!
Noting this tip for sure! Love that you blogged first thing!!
i can't believe you blogged on the morning of your wedding! ha ha, you go girl.
on the morning of my wedding i just hung out with my family and really tried to savor some quality time with them.
luckily, i had an amazing team of friends that managed any little disasters that came our way. they sat me down with a glass of champagne and told me not to worry... so i didn't! everything always works out in the end.
I so will be blogging on the morning of my wedding too - the power of technology lol! Might even do live tweets as well {just kidding}.
Great tip about staying overnight, wake up all nice and chilled.
That's a clever idea. Stay at the hotel...get all rejuvinated before the day! love it!
You are such a tease with these recaps. I want to know what happens at the end! So impatient, hehe ;)
It seems your day was really about focussing on the people who mean the most to you, I love that.
You really held together so well, the heat alone was crazy making!
Can't wait to hear more.
I was staying in the same room and I do think it took a lot of the edge off. I was definitely trying to make the whole process as stress free as possible! My bridesmaid coming over with a bottle of champagne to drink while we got ready helped too. :)
I am staying in my own home on the night before the wedding with my best friend (who is flying in from out of state), my mom, daughter and probably my cousin. We'll all carpool over to our venue first thing in the morning where we'll have our hair and makeup done. Your day started off hot and I am praying mine doesn't start off freezing! :)
I can't believe you blogged! That's so funny... I can't imagine what I would post on a day like that! I'm so going to have to sit down and read all your older posts – I only started reading them around the time you got married!
My OH wants me to stay somewhere near our potential venue before the wedding - he knows I would be stressing too much to get myself somewhere! ;)
Blogging really is addictive, isn't it? ;)
Love your profile photo. Too funny!
Dang! Didn't even THINK about the morning of. I told a good friend (who is also our ceremony celebrant) that I'm so worried about getting ready and setting up the day of. She looked at me (with a stank face!) and said, "girl, I got my clipboard. You just need to get ready." So there you have it. I will start my morning "chill" and my well-organized friend and her clipboard will take care of the set-up. (Another element to add to the chill-factor: Our ceremony/reception site is at a state park with an old fashioned swimming quarry, so I will be taking a handful of sweet friends and the future-hubster for a swim before we become a Mr. & Mrs.)
