Recaps - Rehearsal

Ok, seriously who wants to punch me for taking so damn long to write these posts?

So where were we......

Running late. We had finally finished setting up all the tables. The venue was starting to look like I had imagined. The table settings were not perfect, but I did love our ferrero place cards (even if some were a little crooked!).We sat down with Mr B's Aunty (who was being very gracious and waiting patiently) to sign the last of the official paper work. Then it was upstairs to run through the ceremony. The sound system did not work, everyone was tired and over it, people were having to leave as we were running so late. It was not at all as I had imagined. I thought I'd feel loved up staring at Mr B while we said our vows. But instead I felt on the verge of tears. I was SUPER pent up and stressed. Mr B was too and he just looked annoyed. Me being oversensitive took this to be a bad sign. He wouldn't look me in the eye while we practiced our vows.

That night I found out that he just wanted to punch something as he was so disappointed in how stressful everything was turning out to be. He wanted it to be perfect for me and he felt like he couldn't do anything to make it better.

Ahhhh the joy of wedding lead up.

I think this photo of Miss S pretty much sums up how everyone was feeling at the rehearsal.

Oh I would be so mad if the guy didn't look at me for vows. so sorry.

Geez, I really want to avoid this stress. Maybe if I drink some champers beforehand....

May I suggest an entire bottle? Just don't do stuff the day before. Rancho relaxo instead.

That does sound stressful. But that last picture is priceless.

So you guys actually practiced the vows out loud in front of people? We skipped that part, I guess largely because we hadn't written them yet (we saved that for 1-2 am!!!) but I think I liked not practicing. And thankfully, I had handed over the reins at the rehearsal and just let the pastor and stage manager (both good friends who are great at handling people effectively in a kind way) tell us all what to do. It was fabulous to sit and listen to other people guide us. Whew.

Anyhow, I am sorry it wasn't as you imagined things (but I think the reality with weddings is often different than what we are told to expect) and I am glad that even with the stress, it all came together in the end!

I wonder if everyone feels that way.

I'm going to try not to have too much to do the day before the wedding... but I have a feeling there's no avoiding it.

Adventures Along The Way - yeah that picture cracks me up. We practiced all the vows - except the personal ones which were a surprise to each other on the day. Love that you wrote yours at 2am - so something we would do.

Miss C - I sure hope not. I think we just overloaded ourselves. Hindsight is a bitch.

I did like 2 recaps so whatev. Oh if anyone punches you, I'll punch them.

Our rehearsal was super rushed like our wedding! Sigh, yeah no pictures then.

Oh yeah that last picture is def a keeper and at least the next day was beautiful!

Haha I love the look on your flower girls face.. it really does say it all.

I have no illusions about how our rehearsal will go. The Mister doesnt even want to do it but I am forcing him. So he will be sulking. Only one of his four groomsmen is coming and hes not really that happy about it either.
One of my BM will be rushing from work, and so will my parents...
But Im really just doing it because I hope it will make everyone feel more relaxed on the wedding day...
Despite it not being that 'fun', did you feel it was a useful exercise??

The last photograph is priceless. I can't see us getting round to a rehearsal.

P.S. Anything you want to reveal I will lap up but I shan't be grumpy if you don't!

That sucks that you were so stressed and unable to enjoy the rehearsal but that probably happens more often than you think.

The tables looked great!

I’m so sorry it didn’t work out the way you’d hoped, but thanks for the honesty. It’s so important to remember that things don’t always work out perfectly and that it’s OK to feel frustrated when they don’t. Can’t wait to see the rest of the recaps!

Your venue looks amazing all set up like that! I have a feeling our rehearsal is going to be the same way. If we even have one at this point, since our venue has another wedding the evening before. We're trying to sort it all out. I don't have high hopes. And I agree - the next day was gorgeous! Can't wait for those recaps :)

What a bummer about the rehearsal. I am so sorry for you that everything was so stressful and kept going wrong :( No fair! You deserve some pretty amazing blessings this year to make up for all that stuff.

But I do love that you have so many photos along the way. And I absolutely love your colors and your tables! So chic!

Mrs T, I'm so sorry this happened to you! It sounds like you powered through it, but no one should have to feel stress like that. Now I'm nervous...
